Welcome
Welcome to the Clare White Gallery - the north’s leading specialist in quality Cornish art. We are based in the village of Elsecar, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and sell a wide range of original paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles and jewellery – predominantly produced in the south west. As well as hosting regular temporary exhibitions, our collection of paintings always features an eclectic mix of naive, abstract and figurative pictures. We are also the primary outlet for the work of acclaimed St Ives water colourist Clare White (1903 -1997) and the gallery is named in her honour.

Welcome to Eric Ward of St Ives
Now that summer is finally here, we’d like to highlight the work of a relative newcomer to the Clare White gallery. Eric Ward was formerly St Ives’ harbour master and a dedicated RNLI boatman before he took up painting. Eric now exhibits widely and we are pleased to show original oils of St Ives and Salcombe plus limited edition prints of his highly sought-after nudes and jazz musicians.
